The following instructions will aid Architectural Engineering students when setting up a new PC:

  1. Download the VPN software so that you can connect to the AE network. You can download this software at Note that you can use the COE from Wireless setting within the VPN.
  2. Go to the website and then go to the download area. This will allow you to download the software installer application on your computer which allows you to download many of the Autodesk software products. If you don't have an account, you will need to sign up for an account first. Then download:
    1. Autodesk Civil 3D which also installs AutoCAD
    2. Autodesk 3D Studio Design
    3. Autodesk Revit Architecture
    4. Autodesk Revit Structural
    5. Autodesk Revit MEP
    6. Navisworks Manage (also available on the O Drive in the Construction Management software folder)
    7. Autodesk AutoCAD (if Autodesk Civil 3D is not desired)
    8. Autodesk Project Vasari
  3. Install the free version of Sketchup at the Sketchup website. If you have a course which uses Sketchup, check with the instructor for a free course license to Sketchup Pro.
  4. Install Apple iTunes with Quicktime if you have any courses that use iTunes U.

  4. You may consider purchasing Bluebeam PDF Revu , a very good annotation software application for PDF files. A free trial is available.

Other items that you may wish to do:
